Services we provide

There are a few different species of cockroaches that are found in the South Burnett. The most common one is the large Australian cockroach. These are seen predominantly in the summer months, particularly in the late evenings flying into your house.

The good news is that they are killed fairly easily, and don’t breed that quickly either. The other species of cockroaches most commonly found is called the German cockroach. These small guys require a completely different approach when it comes to eradication. Unlike the Australian cockroach, the German cockroach is very resilient, meaning most pesticides you buy from the shops wont kill them, and they breed very quickly. The egg sacks the female carries contains 48 baby cockroaches, hence it doesn’t take long to have a real infestation.

Even with our superior products that we use, we require to come back a second time and sometimes more to properly eradicate a German cockroach infestation. Hence why we need to charge extra if its German cockroaches. But we still offer our 12 month warranty on cockroaches with them.

One of the most frustrating household pests, just when you think you’ve sprayed their trail and entry point, they come from a different small crack the next day. The most common reason one starts to get continuous ants in their kitchen is because the ants have built a nest in the walls of the house, which unfortunately the can of fly spray wont fix. We often use baiting methods for ants inside the house, and can also provide a “carpet spray” for green ants and red ants in the yard.

There are many types of spiders that live in Australia. Unlike popular opinion, not all of Australian spiders are venomous or considered deadly, in fact, more people die from bee stings than from spider bites! That being said, some spider bites will certainly mean a trip to the hospital.

The most notorious spider in Australia is the Sydney funnel web spider. As the name suggests, its only found in NSW. In southern QLD the main spider we need to worry about is the redback. These are most commonly found outside at ground level, under tables, chairs, kids toys ect.

Other commonly found spiders are the general black house spider, which are often found in cracks and crevice’s of houses and sheds. There bite can be a bit painful, but not considered poisonous. Also in the late summer months can be found the golden orb spider. They are a most hideous looking spider with a massive golden abdomen. Their bite also isn’t considered dangerous.

Fleas can be a difficult problem to fix due to their ability to live so long without a meal (being us). In fact, they can stay in the “pupae” stage for up to 8 months without needing to feed. Flea problems are often found in rental properties, even if the house has been vacant for some time there can still be fleas around.

This is one reason why real estates require a mandatory flea treatment before closing out a lease. Fleas are normally brought to the house by pets, but can then live in the carpet or the lawn, providing major discomfort to its residence. A flea infestation will normally require a professional to treat. Store brought flea bombs inside the house can have some effect, but whatever you do, DON’T use lime outside. Yes, lime will deter them, but wont kill them, and it will actually neutralize our products from effectively eliminating them from your property

Mice and rat problems are most prevalent in winter time. Once the temperature drops they will search for warmer places to live, often nesting in the ceilings and walls of houses. Unless you have a decent cat, they can breed in your house and start to eat your food, or worse, eat electrical wiring which can cause major problems.

One of the benefits of getting a professional in to deal with your rodent issue is that our baits are a lot safer than those found in the shops. Firstly, our baits toxicity works off body mass. Eg, 1 block of bait will kill either 3 mice or 1 rat. A dog, being bigger in size, wouldn’t receive a lethal dose from one block, but would have to consume several blocks.

Secondly, the active ingredient in our baits dissolve in the rodents blood stream, so if an animal was to eat the infected rodent, it wouldn’t be affected by our baits.

Bed bugs are fairly rare in the South Burnett. They are mainly found in cities with a higher population density or in large hotels/motels. As the name suggests, they are mostly found living around the bed mattresses, and are spread though luggage and clothing.

They mainly feed at night times, leaving their host (us) with small bites and itchiness over the body. As trained professionals, we can effectively identify that it actually is bed bugs causing you discomfort, and then come up with a treatment plan.

We’ve really seen a massive increase in Aphid infestations over the last 2 years. There are a few different types out there, but the main ones we see are the red and black ones, which seem to “connect” their backsides together when mating. Infestations are normally confined to an entire external wall of a house.

They seem to be a creature of habit as well, infesting the same area in the summer months every year. We spray for aphids in a similar way we treat for external siders, so adding on a spider treatment at the same time wont cost much extra

Silverfish mainly consume fibres, starches and carbohydrates. Old book cases and some fabrics are some of their main food sources and hiding places. The same rule applies to them as with cockroach’s, that if you see one live one it means there lots that you haven’t seen.

The good news is that silverfish are treated in a similar way to how we treat for cockroaches. A lot of the time we combine the silverfish treatment with the cockroach treatment.

One of the most irritating household pests, flies can be quite bad in the South Burnett compared to other areas. The best approach to flies is to ensure all windows have fly screens on them, and to keep doors and windows closed to prevent them from entering the house.

Keeping a clean house, and making sure no food/ liquids are left out can also help combat the spread of flies. If your fly infestation starts to get out of control, and no amount of fly spray seems to fix it, we can offer some different solutions to help you get them back under control.

Known to be the most dangerous animal on the planet, mosquitoes kill about 1 million people every year in the world. Thankfully living in Australia there are very few deaths attributed to mosquitoes, rendering them as a most annoying pest.

Mosquitoes are mainly a summer pest and can be quite bad a few weeks after receiving heavy rainfall. Mosquitoes breed in stagnate water, and can be found in bushes, shrubs and gardens. If you live close to a large stagnate water source (creek, dam, river, tanks) and have lots of trees/ gardens/ foliage close by, there’s a high chance your getting eaten alive when venturing outside.

We can develop treatment plans for mosquitoes for any situation. Unfortunately we cant guarantee to kill all of them, but we can reduce the activity level to a more bearable level.

Below are some of the most common questions we receive from our customers

We provide a 12 month warranty for cockroaches, ants and spiders for residential places, and guarantee our work for commercial sites until the next service is due. We only offer a 1-month warranty for fleas and rodents. This is because fleas can be re-introduced quite easily, and the control of rodents will only last as long as there is bait in the bait stations we leave. That said, we generally use enough bait that will last a residential property 6 months in normal conditions.

Regarding timber pest inspections,we can’t offer any warranty, as termites could potentially turn up at your property a month after we have done our inspection. If we install a termite treated zone to your house, we will endeavour to offer a warranty where possible. This is done on a case-by-case basis andwill let you know beforehand what we can and can’t offer.

A warranty means we will come back, free of charge, to retreat the problem area. We can’t guarantee that after our treatment you won’t see a single pest throughout the warranty period, its normal to see the odd pest around, but if you have persistent problems, we encourage you to call us back. It’s all part of the service that we offer.

The chemicals we use are designed to kill the intended pest we are treating for. At the end of the day they are chemicals, and there are certain precautions that have to be followed when using them. But they are designed to have the least impact/ effect on humans, and pets, while being the most effective against the pest we are treating. Without getting too technical, a lot of the pesticides we use are designed to only work on pestsand are fairly harmless to humans. For example, one of the termiticides we use kills termites by hardening their exoskeleton, which prevents them from malting to their next stage. This chemical is harmless to humans and pets because we don’t have an exoskeleton.

If you have any concerns about anything we are using, please don’t hesitate to ask. We are more than happy to explain exactly what we are using and where.

The large majority of the pesticides we use are reasonably odourless. Most of them you can barely smell, and once dry won’t be noticeable.

The pesticides we use are mixed with water and then sprayed on the intended surface. The active ingredient in these pesticides then bonds and adheres to the surface. One application of wiping or mopping the surface that’s been sprayed wont straight away take off the active ingredient. Continuous mopping will eventually take off the active ingredient over time. The same goes with rain. Once we spray the external of a house, the active ingredient is bonded to the walls of the building. As long as it gets a chance to dry, rain will not wash off the chemical. You may even wash your external walls down with a garden hoses and still be fine. Though a high-pressure hose would sufficiently take off the active ingredient.

The pesticides we use are designed to effectively kill only the intended insects. Most of the chemicals we use are reasonably harmless to pets. Birds and particularly fish are most susceptible to our pesticides. We take appropriate caution regarding birds and fish. Before we conduct any treatments, we will ask you if there are any pets and will advise of what needs to be done in each case. If you have dogs or cats we generally recommend putting their food and water bowls away, and mainly for dogs, help keep them away while we are spraying.

Gone are the days when you had to empty your cupboards out before the pest controller turned up. We do ask that you take in any washing, so we can spray the washing line, cover any fish ponds, turn over/ bring in any outside pet bowls, and help keep dogs away while we are treating. If we are spraying for spiders outside, we do ask that all doors and windows be kept close so none of the spray wafts into your house.
